Trovan
Transponders...
AcuTrax works with the
state-of-the-art Trovan Transponder. The Trovan transponder excels
other tracking solutions including other transponders in a number
of ways which result in direct benefits for you. Visit the Trovan
website at www.trovan.com.
Long
life: The Trovan transponder has an extremely long life
expectancy as compared to other automatic identification products.
Studies by large corporations in the compressed gas industry have
shown that the life expectancy of a barcode is under three years.
Under accelerated life cycle testing the transponder has an indicated
life expectancy of over 20 years! There are no moving parts and
no battery to wear out. The transponder is simply an antennae and
unique microelectronic chip housed in a protective casing.
Normal wear and tear,
end user abuse, and periodic cylinder refurbishing, such as bead
blasting, all destroy or shorten the life expectancy of a barcode
label. Constantly replacing a barcode is time consuming and expensive.
When properly attached, the transponder can be bead blasted and
even painted without affecting the readability of the transponder.
Durability:
One of the advantages of the Trovan transponder is durability. In
addition to the ability to be bead blasted, the transponder can
pass a number of other very extreme tests. The Trovan transponder
has been heated to over 500 degrees for five minutes and heated
to 300 degrees for twenty minutes and still worked properly. In
addition, even extreme environments such as radiation and strong
magnetic fields do not affect the transponder. The microelectronic
chip is housed in a sealed housing making it water resistant. A
special epoxy is used to minimize the effects of constant vibrations.
The unique number is
laser etched into the transponder. It cannot be altered even when
subjected to over 100,000 volts of electricity! This provides a
secure and safe means of identification of each of your valuable
assets.
Non
Visual Read: Since the transponder does not have to be
seen or touched to be read, operator speed and efficiency are significantly
increased. The transponder can be read through paint, dirt, mud,
cement dust, ice, snow or grease. No barcode or other identification
device can perform as well under these conditions.
The Trovan transponder
has been used successfully to track high pressure cylinders such
as oxygen, hydrogen and nitrogen cylinders. Modified versions of
the Trovan transponder are available for propane and refrigerant
cylinders. Unlike many transponders, the Trovan products read very
well when attached to metal, making it an excellent choice for other
types of asset tracking including returnable steel beams and spools
used for shipping wire and cable.
When it comes to a permanent,
quality solution for identifying your cylinders and other assets,
the TROVAN Transponder is unmatched in accuracy, durability, long-life
and efficiency.
